George Philips
Nursery Session Head Trainer

George Phillips has been around boxing most of his life. He started boxing in 1944 aged 10 under the instruction of a seasoned American Professional. He boxed as an Amateur for Enterprise and Langham ABC. He also boxed in exhibition bouts following the Fairground Booths.

George is a trainer for Finchley and District ABC and heads up the team training young boxers in the Nursery session on Saturday mornings.

Amongst George's many skills he is also a fantastic singer and was proud to have sung "Land of Hope and Glory" for the large crowd of about 500 people at Finchley ABC's outing against Barrys Boxing Club in Las Vegas, USA this year on September 27th 2003.
