Sean Murphy
- Ex-Professional Champion & Finchley Boxing Club Trainer
Sean Murphy, before becoming Head Club Trainer
at Finchley & District ABC was an outstanding Amateur
Boxing Champion. He was a two times ABA Champion, Gold Medallist in the Acropolis Cup, and also
Gold Medallist in the Canada Cup.
He also achieved
the distinction of winning Gold Medal in the Commonwealth
Games. As a professional he was British Champion and
is amongst an elite group of boxers in the UK who won
a Lonsdale belt outright. His career pinnacle was challenging
Steve Robinson for the world Title (Steve was infamously
defeated by boxer Naseem Hamed when he first gained
the WBO World Featherweight title belt)
